Day 54: Good-bye, Paris!

Time really has flown by. Has it really been 2 months since we left Seattle? That means our trip is 25% over!

J and I have really enjoyed this experience so far. However, we are looking forward to spending the holidays with family and friends back in the States.

I will be posting a back-log of entries on Paris and Barcelona, but this shall be my final post from Europe until May 2009 when we complete our RTW loop. I leave you with a picture of our last meal in Paris:

- 50 oven-ready escargot from Monoprix (no, we did not eat all of it)
- 2 Greek sandwiches with fries from Planet Food (our favorite cheap eat in Paris!)

Current Location: Paris, France

are the greek sandwiches similar to our gyro in the states? or what's in there?
Reggie - all over Paris you will find Greek fast food/take-away establishments. All of them will have this huge stick of meat roasting in their front window. The Greek sandwiches are made of shavings from this block of meat plus lettuce, tomato and your choice of sauce (ketchup, chili sauce, mayo). I once asked them what kind of meat it is and they said it's chicken. *shrug* I have doubts as to if it's pure chicken or a mish-mosh of different meats, but it's delicious!
yup, the stuffed pita sandwiches (they seemed to be called differently all over europe) was one of my favorite food there. as common as mcdonald's but wayyy better. though typically i've found the meat to be a mixture of lamb & beef. not too sure if i've ever had chicken, haha.

awww, i miss europe.
